ERPD IS HIRING A FULL-TIME PATROL OFFICER!

The East Range Police Department is hiring one (1) full-time Patrol Officer position.  The East Range Police Department provides 24/7/365 service to the communities of Aurora and Hoyt Lakes.  At full staff, the East Range Police Department consists of seven (7) sworn officers which include the Chief of Police, two Sergeants, a part-time School Resource Officer with duties shared by all officers and an Administrative Assistant.  The patrol officers work four consecutive 12-hour shifts followed by four days off.


The department currently offers an excellent compensation and benefit package negotiated with Law Enforcement Labor Services (LELS) Local No 531.

Full Employer paid deductible

  • Employer funds $3050 to VEBA account for single coverage
  • Employer funds $6100 to VEBA account for family coverage
  • Single Health Insurance Coverage costs employee $25 per month with full deductible paid
  • Family Health Insurance Coverage costs employee $150 per month with full deductible paid

Laterals with minimum of 1 year of experience will carry over a percentage of their sick time earned with previous police employer.  Laterals will receive credit for years worked which counts toward longevity percentage pay increases, depending on years of experience. 


The successful candidate must be licensed by MN POST Board or eligible for licensing by the hire date, have an associate's degree in law enforcement or related field, a valid MN Driver's License and pass each of the following components: oral evaluation, background investigation, psychological evaluation, and physical examination including drug testing.
